AI photo prompt generator
This is an AI photo prompt generator built from real production prompts. Pick one of 18 photo to art styles, type what is in your picture, and copy a complete AI photo prompt: no prompt engineering, no guesswork. Every template here is distilled from the prompts that power PrettyLazy’s own photo to art generation, so each one carries a full visual recipe: the medium, the layout skeleton, the color strategy, the text rules and the mistakes it refuses to make. Paste the result into any image model you like, or skip the prompt work entirely and generate the finished piece straight from your photo.

Your prompt
An original Soviet Cold War era poster, circa 1957-1980, of {subject}, in the manner of vintage offset lithographic public graphics. Reduce the scene to four to six large flat hard-edged color modules with one dominant diagonal or vertical direction; the subject must read instantly at thumbnail size. Palette of four to six inks on warm aged-cream paper: print black, deep navy, blue-grey, olive green, ochre golden yellow, with red appearing only as one or two small accents. Vintage print artifacts: crisp cut shapes, restrained halftone, fine paper fiber, slight registration misalignment and light ink wear — muted and tactile, never neon. One short ALL CAPS English title in bold condensed vintage sans-serif sits in a narrow band at the bottom, plainly naming the subject, spelled perfectly. Keep a thin warm-paper margin around all four edges. No political symbols, no photorealism, no gradients, no modern ad aesthetics.
Type a subject above, or copy the template as is and fill the {subject} slot later.
Generate from your photoHow the AI photo prompt generator works
- 1.
Describe your subject
Type what is in your photo or the scene you imagine: a harbor at blue hour, a cafe table with an iced latte, a kid chasing pigeons. One plain sentence is enough. The template carries the style; your words only need to carry the scene.
- 2.
Pick a style template
Choose one of 18 photo to art styles. Some are collage layouts that place paper, stickers and typography around the photograph; others redraw the scene as watercolor, crayon, ink or vintage print. Each card shows a generated sample of the style.
- 3.
Copy your prompt
The generator fills your subject into the template and hands you a complete AI photo prompt. Paste it into any image model, or use the one built into PrettyLazy and get the finished artwork made from your actual photo instead of a text description.

What makes a good AI photo prompt
Name a concrete subject, not a mood. Image models are literal readers: a prompt about a golden retriever leaping for a frisbee will beat a prompt about joy and freedom every time. Put the nouns in, and let the template supply the atmosphere. That is exactly how the subject slot in these templates is meant to be used.
Constraints beat adjectives. The biggest difference between these templates and a random prompt list is that they are written in counts and limits: exactly one sticker cluster, at most three annotated elements, three keywords and not four. Adjectives get reinterpreted on every run; numbers do not. When you edit a template, keep its numbers.
Every good prompt says what it refuses. Each template ends with a hard avoid list: no gradients, no watermark, no invented scenery. Models drift toward generic prettiness, and the avoid list is what holds a style in place. If your results look samey, the fix is usually a longer refuse list, not more description.
Collage styles and redraw styles want different subjects. A collage template keeps the photograph and decorates around it, so it shines when the photo itself matters: people, pets, a specific place. A full redraw template turns the scene into illustration, so it favors strong shapes and clear light over fine detail. If you care about the actual pixels of your photo, generate from the photo instead of from text.
Common questions
- Is this AI photo prompt generator free?
- Yes. The generator and all 18 prompt templates are free, with no sign up. Generating a finished artwork from your actual photo on PrettyLazy costs credits, because real image generation runs behind it.
- Which image models do these prompts work with?
- Any text to image model that accepts an English prompt: nano banana, gpt image, Midjourney and the rest. Each style page also carries a Chinese version of the same template, written for Chinese image models rather than translated word by word.
- Can I use my own photo instead of a text subject?
- Prompts written from text can only describe your photo; they cannot read it. If you want the style applied to the real picture, use the generate option: PrettyLazy reads the photo itself and applies the full production version of the style, which preserves the actual scene instead of reimagining it.
- How is this different from a random AI prompt list?
- These 18 templates are distilled from the style prompts in PrettyLazy. They describe the medium, composition, color and text rules, with concrete constraints and an avoid list. Each style page includes generated samples and notes about its source and adaptation.
- Where can I see AI photo prompt examples?
- Every template ships with a worked example subject, and every style page shows real generated samples next to the exact public prompt. Browse the style library to see the finished pieces each prompt produces before you commit to one.
Want the full story behind each template? Every style has its own page with real samples, the public prompt in English and Chinese, and notes on where the style came from.
